new art glass often requires old frame restoration

When new art glass is being installed into existing wood frames the project often requires some sort of maintenance, conservation or restoration to the frames, sills and surrounding walls.

The original window frames at the Ringwood United Methodist Church, Ringwood, IL, were extensively corroded. The original glass was just colored glass sheets that were held in the rough window openings with stops on both sides of the glass. Over the glass a layer of plastic had been screwed into the exterior stop which caused problems by trapping moisture between the glass and plastic and preventing maintenance to the wood opening.

Because of our skills and experience in restoration we are able to deal with whatever problem may be discovered when using existing frames for new glass.
